5 MONDAY MOTIVATIONAL TIPS

Mondays… it’s a love-hate relationship

Your alarm goes off after a nice relaxing weekend and suddenly your bed is feeling comfier than ever, it’s the start of a new week, a reset button from the week before – it’s a day we get to start over!

Mondays aren’t always easy, but I feel it's important to try start the day off with good vibes and positive energy so here are my 5 tips to surviving a Monday and creating a good foundation for the rest of your week!

 

  1. Pack the night before
    If you’re like me then you’re not a morning person and you’ll try to stay in that bed for as long as you can, which means I have to prepare the night before so I jump out of bed and get ready with my eyes half-closed.
    Something I try to make sure I do every night before I go off to bed is organise what i'll be wearing for the next day, packing a lunch, and laying everything out ready to go so I can run out the door the next morning.
    if you start your Monday out this way it always makes it a little easier and I guarantee you’ll carry this out for the rest of the week!


  2. Wake up with a positive attitude
    Lets face it, it can be a little depressing waking up and heading back into the work week after you’ve had a great weekend – sometimes It feels a bit like we are a hamster on a wheel but its important to remember not everyone is lucky enough to get today.
    it’s a new day… it’s a gift – take it with a smile and use it wisely. Make today count, only you can decide how your day goes so take charge of your thinking and think positive and positive things will happen. My dad always tells me “chin up kid, remember who you are”.


  3. Tick something big off your to do list
    We’re all procrastinators at heart, no one wants to deal with an inbox full of emails, a sink full of dishes, a basket full of laundry or a big assignment they might have coming up but we all have to take that jump and get it done. It may mean putting your head down and powering through it but how good is the feeling of ticking something off your to do list, doing this on a Monday will make you feel like you can take on the world and it will more than likely end up making room for more goals you can smash out the park. The earlier you get stuff done the more time you have later in the week to relax.


  4. Learn something new
    Mondays are for learning new things, knowledge is power and when you have knowledge you have the power to achieve many things. Take some time out of your busy day to learn something new, it improves your mental health and reduces stress.  Be curious about the world!


  5. Do something kind for someone else
    The act of giving will make you feel good, when was the last time you helped someone without expecting something in return?  There are so many ways to show that you care, offer to do a task for someone at work, give a gold coin to a busker or even help a stranger in need. This will help with your level of happiness – finish your day knowing you made someone else’s a little better.

 

I challenge you to love your Monday! Find the awesome that exists in your week, take each day as it comes and not for granted – time is precious and before we know it the adventure is over.
